Big Game Taxidermy

Pronghorn Taxidermy

A speed-goat buck is a classic western trophy — and one of the least forgiving to handle. We mount pronghorn right, and we will help you get yours to us in shape.

Read this first: more pronghorn mounts are ruined in the first few hours than in the shop. Antelope are shot in the heat, and their hollow hair slips fast. If you want your buck mounted, the clock starts the moment it is down.

A speed-goat buck is a classic western trophy — bold black-and-white face markings and horns like nothing else on the continent. Outlaw Taxidermy mounts pronghorn with the crisp detail those markings demand, bringing the same specialist-level care we are known for on birds to your big game. Serving hunters across Utah, Idaho, Wyoming and Nevada.

Because antelope are so unforgiving, most of this page is about getting your buck to us in shape to mount — do this right and the rest is easy.

How We Mount Your Buck

On antelope, speed beats everything. A great taxidermist cannot fix a cape that cooked in the back of the truck.

Why Hunters Trust Outlaw

We know the extra care antelope demand, and we treat every mount like it is going on our own wall. Quality forms, careful cape work, honest timelines. European mounts are the most affordable option; shoulder and life-size run higher. Reach out and we will quote you straight before any work starts.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is pronghorn so hard to mount well?

Antelope hair is hollow and slips easily, and they are usually shot in warm early-season heat. Get the cape cool and to a taxidermist or freezer faster than any other big game, and handle the hair gently.

Can you do a European mount on an antelope?

Yes. A whitened European skull mount shows off the distinctive pronged horns and is a clean, affordable option.

Do the horn sheaths come off?

Pronghorn shed their horn sheaths, and they can loosen after death. Keep the sheaths with the skull and get everything to us; we will handle reattaching and finishing.

How long does a pronghorn mount take?

Roughly 6 to 12 months depending on backlog and style. We keep you posted throughout.
