Waterfowl Taxidermy

Duck & Goose Taxidermy

From a curly-tailed greenhead to a giant Canada, we build waterfowl mounts that look like the bird just set its wings over the decoys.

Our work

Waterfowl are the heart of what we do. Outlaw Taxidermy is a bird-focused studio, so your duck or goose gets full, careful feather work — clean whites, feathers that lay right, and color that lasts. Whether you hunt the Great Salt Lake marshes, the Bear River refuge or a flooded grain field, we build the mount around the moment you remember. Serving hunters across Utah, Idaho, Wyoming and Nevada.

Ducks & Geese We Mount

Puddle Ducks

Mallards, pintails, wigeon, teal, gadwall, shovelers and wood ducks — bright drakes in full plumage are our most-requested duck mount.

Divers & Sea Ducks

Canvasbacks, redheads, bluebills, goldeneye, bufflehead and ringnecks — bold color and pattern that reward a careful mount.

Geese

Canada geese, snows, blues, Ross and specklebellies — from a cupped-wing honker to a striking flying mount.

Banded & Specialty

Banded birds, hybrids and once-in-a-lifetime drakes, mounted to show off exactly what makes them special.

Care It Right Before You Bring It In

A late-season greenhead should look like he just locked up over the spread — that is the difference clean feather work makes.

Why Hunters Choose Outlaw for Waterfowl

Birds are our craft, and waterfowl are our specialty. That focus is why our whites stay clean, our feathers lay right, and our drakes hold color for decades. We degrease thoroughly, seal feet and bills, and build habitat bases matched to your hunt. We stand behind every mount. Pricing depends on species, pose and base — reach out and we will quote you straight.

Frequently Asked Questions

How should I care for my duck or goose before bringing it in?

Never gut it. Cool it quickly, slide it head-first into a nylon stocking to protect the feathers, seal it in a bag with the air pressed out, and freeze it. Frozen birds keep for months.

Can you display my leg band?

Yes. A banded greenhead or honker is a trophy in itself, and we can mount it so the band shows right on the leg. Bring the band details too.

Which pose should I choose?

It depends on your space and the moment you want to relive. Standing and swimming poses suit a shelf; wings-cupped and flying mounts are dramatic on a wall or ceiling. We will help you decide.

How long does a waterfowl mount take?

Generally several months depending on our seasonal backlog and the pose. We keep you updated and never rush the feather work.
